The Save Our Stepney Task Force (SOS) placed 2,977 small white flags on the Stepney Green in remembrance of those who perished in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and on United Airlines Flight 93 that crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The flags, along with a temporary reflection pool were installed to commemorate the 10th year anniversary of the 911 tragedy.
